Our numbers were down a little for this tournament as a lot is going on this time of the year. But it didn’t stop those of us who participated in our 3rd annual church leadership appreciation tournament from having a great time. We had several partners that don’t regularly fish get a taste of what we so passionately love to do. One thing we all had in common though is that we were all called to serve Jesus Christ in some kind of leadership role. And we all passionately love to spread the word of Jesus Christ. Six pastors, a Sunday school teacher, 2 deacons, a choir member, and a trustee represented 7 churches. The weather was gorgeous and even though the weights weren’t all that impressive, we all caught fish.

     The team that out fished the field was Ricky Russell and his pastor Jimmy Franks from Southland Baptist Temple. They had 5 fish that weighed 14lbs. 9 oz. Ricky and Brother Franks also had the biggest fish at 4lbs. 10 oz. In second place was Pastor Jeff Hartman and son Jeff Jr. with 5 fish at 11lbs. and 1 oz. Pastor Jeff cought the Church Leader big fish that weighed 2lbs. and 10 oz. In third place was Danny Everett and father-in law Allen Franklin who is a trustee at Lone Oak Methodist. Danny and Allen brought in 3 fish at 7lbs. and 6 oz.

     Our next tournament is in two weeks at Kentucky Dam Marina on June 2nd. Then two weeks after that we will be having our first ever river tournament in which we will put in at the foot of Broadway in Paducah. The river tournament is on June 23rd.
